Augusta & Co is delighted to have acted as exclusive financial adviser to Valorem, the pioneering French green energy producer, in the sale of the 165MW ready-to-build wind project ‘Kalistanneva’ in Finland. The project has been sold to a consortium of Helen Oy, the regional utility of Helsinki, and Ålandsbanken Wind Power Fund, an open-ended fund in Finland investing in wind power.
Kalistanneva, located in the Ostrobothnia region, forms part of the larger VIIATTI project which also comprises the 149MW Matkussaari wind farm, which VALOREM will continue to own in full. The two projects will be constructed in parallel under Valorem’s construction management and together will generate c. 1TWh annually representing around 1.2% of Finnish annual electricity consumption.
Augusta has acted as exclusive financial adviser to Valorem on both projects, providing M&A advice on Kalistanneva and debt advisory services on Matkussaari.
Nicolas Berard, Director of International Business for Valorem, said “Augusta has provided state of the art professionalism on this transaction and helped deliver an outstanding result”.
Romane Guitard, Managing Director and head of France for Augusta commented “We are proud of the result which this highly competitive process has achieved for Valorem. The project stimulated strong international interest, and in the end the offer from the Helen & Ålandsbanken consortium provided a compelling as well as reliable solution”.
