Augusta secures buyer for large scale operating Irish solar portfolio

Augusta & Co is pleased to have closed two separate Irish solar deals totalling over 400MWp.

In this transaction, we advised ib vogt and Highfield Solar (a JV between Highfield Energy, Aura Power and ib vogt) on the sale of c.300MWp of operating solar portfolio to an undisclosed buyer in a complex process. The projects were commissioned over the summer of 2023 and entered long term power purchase agreements with a global technology conglomerate.

In a separate transaction, we advised ib vogt on the senior financing of an in-construction 106MWp solar project backed by the government auction scheme (RESS 2). Rabobank acted as sole lender and hedging bank in a process that we brought to close in less than four months.

Carsten Stang, Managing Director and CCO at ib vogt said: “We are delighted to have leveraged Augusta’s experience and network in negotiating and closing these flagship Irish deals. Ireland remains an important market for ib vogt and we continue our work with Augusta as we launch new, large scale renewable transactions in Europe.”

Charlie Hodges, Partner at Augusta & Co added: “We are thrilled to have worked on some of Ireland’s first and largest solar projects and congratulate all parties on getting these processes over the line. By Irish market standards, these are very large projects that took many years of hard work and patience to develop. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside such ambitious clients.”
