Augusta & Co arranges large-scale debt financing package for Renewable Power Capital

Augusta & Co is pleased to announce its role as the exclusive financial adviser to Renewable Power Capital (RPC), backed by Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, in securing one of the largest RTB wind portfolio financing packages in the Nordics for its flagship 553MW Ready-to-Build onshore wind portfolio in Sweden.

Through bespoke multi-product structuring, the transaction delivered a comprehensive funding solution for RPC’s Swedish onshore wind portfolio capex needs, including a €560m long-term senior financing package plus additional equity bridge loans for an undisclosed amount.

The scale and efficiency of the transaction reflects RPC’s respected position in the European renewables market as well as the collaborative expertise of key counterparties, including CIBC, Danske Bank, NatWest, NordLB, as commercial banks, with Export Development Canada (EDC), as DFI.

Augusta & Co successfully secured substantial liquidity and optimal debt terms for RPC’s Swedish onshore wind portfolio through a period of volatile power prices and interest rates, enabling RPC to optimise returns and retain the flexibility required to scale their Nordic operations.

Sylvain Delion, Managing Director – Head of Investment and Structured Finance at Renewable Power Capital, said: “We are glad to have worked with Augusta & Co in the financing of our flagship onshore wind portfolio in Sweden, benefiting from their wide network and experience in structuring and managing complex transactions. Closing the financing on our largest investment to date is another major milestone in RPC’s investment strategy and commitment to deliver clean energy.”

Romane Guitard, Partner at Augusta & Co. commented: “We are delighted to have assisted RPC in securing this substantial debt financing package and expanding their network of banking partners. Augusta has arranged a debt package that offers a total funding solution for RPC’s landmark Swedish onshore wind portfolio. This underscores RPC’s strength as a renewable energy investor and our capacity to deliver tailored and innovative solutions. The RPC team continues to be at the forefront of European renewables, and we appreciate their continued confidence in our team to support them on their journey”.
